Personality Development

Personality Development

Personality is the sum total of ways in which an individual reacts and interacts with others. Or Personality is generally defined as the deeply ingrained and relatively enduring patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior. In fact, when one refers to personality, it generally implies to all what is unique about an individual, the characteristics that makes one stand out in a crowd.

Personalities is the sum total of individual’s Psychological attitudes, beliefs, characteristics, habits, motives, outlooks and traits.

Personality Determinants:

Heredity:

Heredity refers to those factors that were determined at conception. Physical structure, biological rhythms, facial attractiveness, temperament, gender, muscle composition and reflexes, energy level, and are characteristics that are generally considered to be either completely or substantially influenced by who your parents were, that is by their inherent psychological make up, physiological and biological.

Environment:

The environmental factors that exert pressures on our personality formation are friends and social groups, the norms among our family, the culture in which we are raised, our early conditioning, and other influences that we experience. The environment to which we are exposed plays a substantial role in shaping our personalities.

Situation:

A third factor, the situation, influences the effects of heredity and environment on personality. An individual’s personality although generally stable and consistent, does change in different situations. The demand of different situation calls forth different aspects of one’s personality. We should not therefore look upon personality patterns in isolation.

Communication Skills

                                                        Communication Skills
Communication skill is nothing but having the ability to communicate that characterized human beings from animals. And also it is the ability to Communicate well that characterized one individual from another.

The reality is that excluding from the basic essential, one need to be ready with habits for good communication skills, as this is what one will make them a happy and successful social being.

To develop these kinds of habits, one needs to first allowed the fact that they need to improve communication skills from every now and then. They need to take assets of the way they interact and the direction in which their work and personal relations are going. The only non stop in life is change, and the more one acquired one's strengths and works towards dealing with their weak points, particularly in the area of communication skills, the better will be their interactions and the more their social popularity.

The imperious question which comes here is: How to improve Communication Skills? Well, it is simple. One can find plenty of literature on this. There are many experts, who conduct seminars and workshops based on this particular topic for both men and women. In point of fact, numbers of companies are bringing in trainers to frequently conduct sessions on the subject 'Communication Skills', in order to help their work force maintain better interpersonal work relations.

At present, effective, and powerful communication skills has become an important factor while recruiting employees. While interviewing candidates, most interviewers judge them based on the way they communicate. They believe that skills can be Important on the job; but having the ability to communicate well is the main point, as every employee becomes the representing face of the company.

There are trainers, who specialize in bringing up custom-made programs on the subject. Through the session they not only facilitate better skills in the department of communications, but also look into the problems that come in the way of being able to convey messages capably and effectively. Here they discuss issues with the management and then look to design programs accordingly. For example, time error becomes a cause for stress and frustration, which then curb the possibility of healthy communications at work. Then in weeks to come the company organizes a program on Time Management. Thus, a workshop on communication skills helps the management to deal with the finer employee implication about which they lack awareness.

Career Interest

                                                                    Career Interest
First step you have to identify the career field that best suits your interests, skills, and then select the post -secondary education or training that will favour you succeed in that career field. Otherwise, it is like putting a car in drive before you have any idea where you want to go. Surely you will end up somewhere, but you may not be happy with the destination.

While you do not need to precisely Determine your Career (e.g. anesthesiologist, manufacturing operations analyst, biotech engineer) in high school, you should dedicate enough time to career exploration/planning to determine the general career field (e.g. business, technical career, engineering, health care) that you wish to pursue. The curriculum for different career fields varies significantly.

once you chosen your career field, you can identify potential "education" providers (e.g. college, technical schools) and assess their ability to meet your other needs (e.g. location, size, cost, academic environment, extracurricular activities, job placement).

Commenly, Students and thier parents view a College degree as an end in itself. They assume that a college degree ensures success and happiness. Despite what some people think, wondering aimlessly through college and changing majors three or four times to randomly test career interests is not a normal, effective nor necessary approach.Rather, this approach wastes time, Money and resources, as well as, producing significant frustration for students (and parents). Imagine how a student feels after spending four years of their life and 4 or 5 lacs + on college to find themself waiting tables upon graduation.

While most attractive careers need post-secondary education, many of these jobs do not require a 4-year college degree. As the low college completion rate suggests, a 4-year degree is not for everyone. If your education has little relevance to your ultimate career, it will have limited value. Education for education's sake is OK, but with college costing 1.5 lac+/yr. and global competition for jobs increasing dramatically, I'd focus first on acquiring marketable skills for a promising career.

Resume Building

                                             Introduction to Resume Resume Building
A Resume or curriculum vitae is an advertisement of who you are in terms of your capability, ability, and future skills. It is your main advertising appliance for opening the doors of prospective employers. From the candidate's objectivity, resumes are supposed to help get interviews which, in turn, lead to job offers. From the viewpoint of the employer, resumes are expected to communicate value. Always remember that employers are not looking to hire your history - they want to know your capabilities and abilities.

While preparing a resume, never forget that you are advertising yourself for an interview and not for a job. Offering of job comes only after Successful Interview
There are Three types of Resumes:
Chronological:

This sort of resume is used best generally. With this kind of format, you present the information in reverse chronological order and give a detailed account of education, work experiences, and other relevant skills.

Functional:

This sort of resume contains functional skills categories that focus work experiences and Transferable Skills. A functional resume may also be used if the experience or qualifications do not sustenance your professional purpose. Many of the employers are very careful when reviewing these resumes, as they may be used to hide evident gaps in, or a lack of, work experience.

Combination:

This type of resume includes functional skill categories that highlight work experiences and transferable skills within the reverse chronological listing of work history.

Interview Tips

                                                          Basic Things for Interview
Interview is a chance for both the candidate and employer to take in information. The interviewer wants to know and see if the job application really has the knowledge, motivation, skills, and self-confidence which are necessary for the particular job. At this point of view one can be confident that the interviewer saw something interesting in your resume. The interviewer wants to figure out whether you are fit in with the organization's current philosophy and employees. Likewise, you will want to check out the position and the organization, and choose if the organization will fit into your Career Plans. Interview is nothing but an opportunity for both the employer and the applicant to market themselves. Here the employer is selling his organization to you, and you the applicant also marketing your knowledge, skills, and personality to the employer.

Doing research about the interview process, practicing your answers for the common interview questions, you should be alert of general interview tips. Always remember the following points when you are preparing for any interview:

Check your Resume; make sure that you can explain everything according to what is written in your resume. Reached at the interview place fifteen minutes early to give yourself a chance to collect your thoughts and relax. Be alert that many organization have their receptionist's record the time you arrived. If you rush in at the last minute, an interviewer might have serious concerns about your ability to arrive on time for a normal day at work.

Take a proper rest before the day of your interview. This is really important to give you a fresh mind in the interview if you are rested. No one is impress seeing a sleepy face. Don't just leave your house for interview without having anything, have your proper breakfast or lunch. If you are worried about your stomach growling, it is difficult for you to be able to concentrate on the questions they are asking.
